Elizabeth Wright is an aspiring history and travel author. Inspired by Patrick Leigh Femor and Simon Winder, she loves getting under the skin of places to understand how they have changed and evolved through time. Her current project seeks to tell an unconventional story of the Holy Roman Empire through the lens of twelve European cities - some still major capitals, some forgotten backwaters. She is also narrating a multi-year walk across Europe from the Hook of Holland to Istanbul in the footsteps of Patrick Leigh Fermor, a chronicle not only of a physical journey but of a temporal one through several decades of 21st century Europe.
